I was very sure that I wanted my 4th child to be a homebirth. A large part of that decision had to do with the fact that Monika exudes confidence and has a passion for her work. We were not disappointed. Her prenatal care was extremely professional and helpful and kind. Our homebirth went so smoothly and I believe that my absence of anxiety directly correlates with the trust and confidence that I placed in Monika to take care of us. I don't know if a 5th child is in the cards for us but my husband and I both wholeheartedly agree that a homebirth with Althea Midwifery is a must.  -Iona S.

I was 19 weeks pregnant when I first reached out to Monika, & we talked back & forth up until I was 24 weeks before I set something up to be a patient of hers. She was very patient & understanding of everything, she worked with me from the very beginning. I knew once we had our first conversation that I wanted her to birth my baby. Although our time together wasn't for the full 9 months, Monika became just like family. I trusted her, she always made me feel comfortable, & she always tried to work with me as far as scheduling of appointments. If I had to do it all over again I'd choose Monika every time!
